It may have been a foggy and cold night in Lake Arrowhead on Wednesday, but warm hearts filled SkyPark at Santa’s Village. Guests from all over the mountain area flocked to the Park to enjoy a night full of rocking bands, ice skating under the stars, and a full pub. Guests were enthusiastic about this special night out. The benefit concert was held in support of fellow villager Sarai Kiser.
About Sarai
Sarai is known around Santa’s Village by her elf name, Star Bright. She was recently diagnosed with Leukemia, which is a cancer of blood-forming tissues, often including bone marrow. Sarai has worked closely with many businesses in the Lake arrowhead area and is a close friend to all. She has contributed so much to the community and the community felt as though it was time to give back to her during a time of need. An impressive amount of people came to the event to show their support while enjoying drinks and meeting up with old and new friends.
Benefit Concert
An excited crowd filled The Pavilion, ready to dance to live music. Ron Culbertson, Jade Bennett, Gino Matteo, and The 60 Grit Band performed during the benefit concert. Ron Culbertson was up first to perform and really set the audience in the right mood with his blues rock set. He even added some Christmas jingles in for everyone that was enjoying Santa’s Village for the holidays! Next up were some amazing songs by husband-and-wife duo, Gino Matteo and Jade Bennett. Jade’s voice was spectacular as was Gino’s acoustic skills. Between breaks, guests enjoyed drinks and conversations at the Pedal Pub.
The Pedal Pub served delicious drinks and served them quickly despite the rush. The Park also donated 15% of all drink sales to Sarai’s health fund. The headliner of the night was The 60 Grit Band, a favorite here at Skypark at Santa’s Village. To say it was a full house for The 60 Grit performance would be an understatement. Guests were dispersed among the park throughout the night. Some were ice skating or grabbing last minute Christmas presents in the stores, but as soon as The 60 Grit band hit the stage, almost everyone was found in The Pavilion. Easy to say that the band did not disappoint! It was a perfect way to close out the night.
Ways to Help Sarai
We have donated all proceeds from the benefit concert directly to Sarai’s health fund as well at 15% of all Pedal Pub sales. If you weren’t able to join in on the fun from the concert but still want to help, there are other ways you can contribute. On Wednesday, December 27th, the Twin Peaks Sheriff’s Station on Highway 189 is hosting a blood drive. Guests are encouraged to donate blood using Sarai’s code: REPLKSSA. You can visit any LifeStream and donate blood or platelets to Kiser using her code. There are LifeStream Donation Centers across the Inland Empire. For a full list, click here.
